Hello, if you are entering this place, know that this is a test version of a personal project I've been aspiring to accomplish, but which requires learning to code on HTML . Ever since I watched this video
, and a few others on the topic of old web, I've thought about trying to create a personal website to host thoughts, reflections, personal struggles or anything else we may share on a personal blog, just as a way to share and not write to me only, but also to experiment, test on this and check if the arguments presented on this kind of content on why learning to create a website by yourself can be fun.
Personally, as a 21-year-old guy, I wasn't an internet user, or even alive, back when these kind of "old web style" sites that we see on neocities were actually popular back in the day. The oldest I got to, was using Windows XP and MSN. But when seeing these websites on neocities, I gotta admit to prefer the modern ones, hehe.
Like, don't get me wrong, but even though these videos convinced me to experiment a new form of using the internet for myself, I gotta admit that even though I like the creativity here and the originality and passion involved, these old web sites feel like a form of "visual pollution", I feel mentally fatigued from browsing even a few sites here on neocities.
Minimalism can feel "empty", kinda "shallow", I agree, but excessive coloring and detailing can generate the opposite effect of minimalism: Overconsumption of stuff, and fatigue.
So, why did I write this previous paragraph, you may be asking? Well, this vent was just to explain that, once I learn how to personalize the visuals of a website and create a more detailed page, I'm not gonna use an old web style in the classical sense so much, I'm gonna try to look for something that is both not mentally overwhelming, and also not too minimalistic. Aesthetically pleasing and functional at the same time.
(I hope to not have offended those who create content here on neocities with this text, that wasn't my intention. I just wanted to overexplain my intentions here)
**In short: This will be a simple, minimalistic but personalized, personal blog for writing personal stuff**.
And I'm in the process of learning the coding part.
